BioTE Pellet Therapy
BioTE Hormone Pellet Therapy
BioTE pellet therapy is one of the most effective and convenient forms of bioidentical hormone replacement available. A small pellet inserted just under the skin delivers consistent, steady hormone levels for months at a time — no daily pills, no weekly patches, no peaks and valleys. Arctic Rose Wellness is a certified BioTE provider, and Jean Walker, WHNP-BC, brings extensive hands-on experience helping both women and men achieve lasting hormone optimization through personalized pellet therapy.
The BioTE Difference
"Steady hormones. Steady energy. Steady you."

What to Expect
Before Your First Appointment
A comprehensive lab panel is completed approximately 2 weeks prior to your initial appointment so results are ready to review at your visit.
Initial Appointment
Your provider reviews your lab results in full, discusses your symptoms and goals, and makes personalized recommendations for lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, and hormone therapy. At this visit you and your provider decide together on the right therapy delivery method for your needs.
Your path branches here — choose the therapy that fits your life
Path A
Pellet Therapy Path
Pellet Insertion
Your personalized pellet dose is calculated from your labs and the insertion procedure is completed at your initial visit. The area is numbed with a local anesthetic — the procedure takes only a few minutes and most patients say it was much easier than expected.
Early Follow-Up
Men receive follow-up labs 4 weeks after insertion. Women are checked in with to assess symptom relief — labs are ordered if symptoms are not fully relieved.
Optimization Check
Labs return approximately 2 weeks later. If needed a complimentary pellet boost — a small supplemental dose at no additional charge — is provided to fine-tune your levels.
Absorption Reassessment
Women at the 10–14 week mark and men at the 18–22 week mark have labs drawn to confirm the majority of the pellet has been absorbed. This critical step prevents stacking and ensures your next dose is accurate.
Next Insertion
Once absorption is confirmed you are eligible for your next insertion. Women are typically pelleted every 3–4 months. Men every 5–6 months.
Path B
Non-Pellet Therapy Path
Prescription Provided
Your personalized hormone therapy prescription — cream, patch, gel, injection, or oral — is provided at your initial visit with full instructions for use.
Follow-Up Labs
Labs are drawn approximately 2 weeks prior to each follow-up appointment to assess hormone levels and guide dosage adjustments.
Active Optimization Phase (Months 1–8)
Follow-up visits are scheduled approximately every 2–3 months until stable, optimized hormone levels are achieved. Most patients complete 3–4 follow-up appointments with labs during this phase. Your provider adjusts your protocol at each visit based on your lab results and how you are feeling.
Maintenance Phase
Once stable dosing is established and hormone levels are optimized, follow-up visits move to every 6 months. You will continue to have labs drawn prior to each maintenance visit.
Annual Comprehensive Assessment
At the one-year mark a full comprehensive lab panel is completed to reassess your hormone levels, overall health markers, and long-term protocol. This annual assessment ensures your therapy remains optimized as your body and health needs evolve over time.
Note: Our monitored approach to pellet dosing prevents the stacking effect that has given some pellet therapy programs a poor reputation. By confirming absorption before every new insertion we ensure your dose stays accurate and your results stay consistent. We do not cut corners. Your safety depends on it.

Hormone Therapy — Common Questions
Common symptoms include hot flashes and night sweats, brain fog or difficulty concentrating, persistent fatigue despite adequate sleep, low libido, mood changes or irritability, unexplained weight gain, vaginal dryness, disrupted sleep, body aches, and lost motivation. These are not simply a normal part of aging — they are often signs your hormones need attention.
Your initial consultation includes a comprehensive lab panel completed approximately 2 weeks before your appointment, a full review of your results and symptoms, and a personalized protocol built around your body and goals. If pellet therapy is appropriate, the insertion can be completed at your first visit.
We offer creams, patches, gels, injections, oral therapy, and BioTE bioidentical hormone pellets. Your provider will discuss which delivery method best fits your lifestyle, symptoms, and clinical needs.
Traditional OB/GYN clinics rarely assess hormone labs or optimize therapy through follow-up monitoring. At Arctic Rose, every patient receives a full lab assessment, a personalized protocol, and close follow-up until optimal dosing is achieved. We address root causes — not just symptoms.
Most patients begin noticing improvements within 4–8 weeks. Pellet therapy patients often notice changes within 2–4 weeks of insertion. Your provider will set clear expectations at your initial consultation.
Hormone therapy is considered safe and effective for most patients when properly managed by a qualified provider. Jean Walker, WHNP-BC, brings significant clinical experience in hormone management and will review your full health history to ensure therapy is appropriate for you.
Yes. We offer full hormone evaluation and personalized therapy for men experiencing symptoms of andropause including fatigue, low libido, poor sleep, mood changes, and erectile dysfunction.
